The Carroll Independent School District currently operates five elementary schools, three intermediate schools, two middle schools and two high schools. These eleven schools are attended by approximately 8,000 students who live in Southlake, Grapevine, and Westlake.
For the 2007-2008 school year, Carroll ISD was rated exemplary by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), one of only twenty-nine school districts in the state to receive this rating. Ten of its campuses received exemplary ratings and one was not rated. The percentage of Carroll ISD students passing the 2006-2007 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was among the highest in the Texas.
