The Northwest Independent School District currently operates eleven elementary schools, three middle schools, one high school and two special programs centers. These seventeen schools are attended by approximately 12,000 students who live in Aurora, Flower Mound, Fort Worth, Haslet, Justin, Keller, Newmark, Rhome, Roanoke, Southlake, and Trophy Club.
For the 2007-2008 school year, Northwest ISD was rated recognized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Five of its campuses received exemplary ratings, eight received recognized ratings, three received academically acceptable ratings, and one was not rated. The percentage of Northwest ISD students passing the 2006-2007 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was somewhat higher than for all Texas schools.
Five Northwest ISD schools are attended by students living in the northwest Dallas suburbs profiled on this web site. As shown below, three of these campuses was rated exemplary by the TEA based on its 2007-2008 school year performances, and two were rated academically acceptable.
