The Northwest Independent School District currently operates thirteen elementary schools, three middle schools, one high school and one special programs center. These seventeen schools are attended by approximately 12,000 students who live in Aurora, Flower Mound, Fort Worth, Haslet, Justin, Keller, Newmark, Rhome, Roanoke, Southlake, and Trophy Club.
For the 2008-2009 school year, Northwest ISD was rated recognized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Twelve of its campuses received exemplary ratings, three received recognized ratings, two received academically acceptable ratings, and one was not rated. The percentage of Northwest ISD students passing the 2008-2009 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was significantly higher than for all Texas schools.
Five Northwest ISD schools are attended by students living in the northwest Dallas suburbs profiled on this website. As shown below, four of these campuses was rated exemplary by the TEA based on its 2008-2009 school year performances and one was rated recognized.
