The Lewisville Independent School District currently operates thirty-nine elementary schools, fifteen middle schools, six high schools and two special programs centers. These sixty-two schools are attended by more than 50,000 students who live in Lewisville, Argyle, Carrollton, Coppell, Copper Canyon, Double Oak, Flower Mound, Grapevine, Hebron, Highland Village, Frisco, Plano, and The Colony.
For the 2009-2010 school year, Lewisville ISD was rated recognized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Thirty-eight of its campuses received exemplary ratings, twenty received recognized ratings, two received academically acceptable ratings, and two were not rated. The percentage of LISD students passing the 2009-2010 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was significantly higher than for all Texas schools.
Thirty-one Lewisville ISD schools are attended by students living in the northwest Dallas suburbs profiled on this website. As shown below, twenty-sewven of these campuses were rated exemplary by the TEA based on their 2008-2009 school year performances, three were rated recognized and one was rated academically acceptable.
