The Lewisville Independent School District currently operates thirty-eight elementary schools, fifteen middle schools, six high schools and three special programs centers. These sixty-two schools are attended by more than 50,000 students who live in Lewisville, Argyle, Carrollton, Coppell, Copper Canyon, Double Oak, Flower Mound, Grapevine, Hebron, Highland Village, Frisco, Plano, and The Colony.
For the 2007-2008 school year, Lewisville ISD was rated academically acceptable by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Twenty-three of its campuses received exemplary ratings, twenty-one received recognized ratings, sixteen received academically acceptable ratings, and two were not rated. The percentage of Lewisville ISD students passing the 2006-2007 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was significantly higher than for all Texas schools.
Thirty-one Lewisville ISD schools are attended by students living in the northwest Dallas suburbs profiled on this web site. As shown below, nineteen of these campuses were rated exemplary by the TEA based on their 2007-2008 school year performances, eight were rated recognized and four were rated academically acceptable.
